Solar farm

In the march to develop new technologies and search for sources of clean, renewable energy, France takes prominence with this amazing solar farm, which covers an area of 200 hectares in the hills of La Colle des Mées. The farm is the largest unit of its kind in the country, with a total of 112 000 solar modules that generate enough electricity to power 12,000 homes.

The project was developed by Siemens Energy and is responsible for generating 100 MW of clean energy. For its location, 800 meters above sea level, the area is favored by optimal conditions for production of solar energy, resulting in a production of 10% to 15% above average in this kind of projects.

Even with the application of the panels, the concern for the environment is present in all aspects of the project, which dispensed the use of concrete bases that normally support the structure of the receptors. Thus, the entire length of the solar farm allows that the grass continue to grow normally under the panels. If the structure is removed, the field remains with a large expanse of grass.
